Members of Bangor Rugby Club helped Phil Thompson to the Welsh mountain’s 3650-foot peak earlier this month. The 66-year-old has always wanted to reach the top of Snowdon but thought it would be impossible after a motorbike accident at 19. Phil’s 29-year-old son, Sam Thompson, plays for Bangor and when Mark Owen on the team heard about the dream, he knew he could make it happen.
